Mountain Film Festival, held every December in Beyoğlu, İstanbul, aims to present world's best mountain and nature films to the audience. Every year, the festival features domestic and international films and documentaries with themes of mountain, mountain culture, environment and nature. The festival also hosts discussion sessions with world-famous participants, seminars of different topics of mountain and nature, photograph and book exhibitions. Around 50 films will be shown during one week in two different halls.
Nature Activities Group ("Doğa Aktiviteleri Grubu",
www.dag.org.tr) and FILM-SAN are co-organizing the festival.
Opening Cocktail
The festival will kick off with an opening cocktail on December 3rd, 2007.
Photograph Exhibitions

The exhibition named "Dağlarımız - Our Mountains" by Ersin Alok, held at the Beyoğlu YKB exhibition hall in 1968, is again meeting the audience as part of the film festival.
- A biographical exhibition introducing the mountaineers who contributed greatly to Turkish mountaineering from 1938 through 1967.
Book Exhibition
- A collection of Turkish mountaineering books and magazines published before 1980.
- The new books by Bozkurt Ergör, Uçman Sungur and Dr. Ali Bilginer, yet to be published.
- Various contemporary books on nature and mountaineering.
Talks and Slide Shows
There will be several talk sessions with:
- Tunç Fındık - High altitude mountaineering
- Ersin Alok - Mountain and Art
- Dr. Ali Bilginer - Wild flowers of Eastern Turkey mountains
- Hakan Öge - Sailing around the world
- Bengüç Özerdem, Hakan Kumuk - South Pole: 16 days at minus 90 degrees
Traveling Festival
The films will also be presented in the traveling festival in Ankara, İzmir, Antalya and Bursa over the following months.
National Mountain and Nature Film Competition
• One of the new events in this year's festival will be the Film Competition. The contest is open to submissions for domestic films with themes of mountain and nature until December 9th, 2007. The results of the competition will be announced on November 18th. The best 3 films will be awarded and all finalist films will be presented at the competition part of the festival.
The festival will be in Beyoğlu, İstanbul.
The festival is free of charge.
